That's really hard. It changes completely based on my mood and the situation. Here's 10 I'm into the majority of the time:

Althea
Bird Song
Playing in the Band
Estimated Prophet
Terrapin Station
Here Comes Sunshine
Black Peter
Candyman
Dark Star
Weather Report Suite>Let It Grow (more than one but I'm counting it as one)

Honorable Mentions: They Love Each Other; Stella Blue....ok, and actually just about everything else except Mexicali Blues, Truckin', most Brent tunes..haha

Seriously though, it really changes based on my mood. I can't possibly pick just 10. Now top 20 or 25, I could probably do that.

Not to be a smart ass, but these are 3 different lists for me. Which is it?

"your top ten"

"the ones that bring a big smile to your face"

or

"the ones that you thinkbest define what the GD is all about"

agree - some songs light up smiles, others go to deeper places - what the GD is all about. I tried to do this but came up with about 18-20.

1.New Speedway boogie (Lyrically phenomenal, great groove)
2.Eyes of the World (It's my driving song that is all I have to say)
3.Cassidy (Bob pays Homage to one of the originators of the movement)
4.Black Muddy river (Jerry at his best beautiful and can listen to it from any time period)
5.Brokedown Palace ( Just makes me happy and sad, "Fare thee well I love you more than words can tell, listen to the river sing sweet songs to rock my soul" will be on the back of my tombstone actually got the wife to agree to this)
6.Terrapin Station ( Triumphant dead in all their creative glory no other band has come close to the epic that is terrapin)
7.Box of Rain ( Sat in my dad's hospital room after he had passed away and the lyrics never left my mind should be hunters pulitzer)
8.Katie Mae ( Pigpen singing Katie Mae after the New Orleans bust is in my very humble opinion the greatest moment on tape of the dead)
9.Stella Blue (Do I even have to explain)
10. Here comes Sunshine (While having my first kid I had brought a three disc cd changer into the delivery room and had Music to be born by, beethoven's ninth and dicks picks one in the player. Right after the birth the lines to funicala funicali came on then here comes sunshine. My daughter had just been born March sun coming through the window, seven pounds seven ounces at seven minutes to seven on St. Patricks Day. Sometimes things are perfect.)

That is my top ten of definiton, greatness, and happiness.
